On March 22, 2014 at 10:37 am the single deadliest landslide in United States history occurred along SR 530 near Oso, Washington. The slide engulfed an entire community, taking the lives of 43 souls. The Slide Memorial will commemorate and educate about the lives lost, a community destroyed, the first responder's  and rescuer's heroic efforts, the grief and resilience of the survivors, and the geological event itself.

PNW Paradise Ball at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront

The Oso Slide Memorial Committee hosted the PNW Paradise Ball at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront on June 22, 2019. The event MC was Matt Lorch from Q13 Fox and Jamie Tompkins joined him for the Live Auction. The evening included both a silent and live auction, entertaining games and banter from Matt Lorch. The Oso Fire Department joined in the fun for the dessert auction, Many thanks to those who joined us, and to our event sponsors and planning committee. Oso Slide Memorial Fundraising Dinner at Rhodes River Ranch

The Oso Slide Memorial Committee hosted a benefit dinner and auction at the Restaurant at Rhodes River Ranch on September 21, 2018. The event featured an Oso BBQ dinner, local entertainment and both a silent and live auction. Some of the Live Auction items included fine detailed handcrafted quilts, and a handcrafted table made by Ron Thompson, a former resident of Steelhead Drive. The Committee raised over $32,000 at this event.
